Bad Moms

So my bestie and I hung out on Saturday and went to see the movie Bad Moms, and wow what a great decision!!! Every mom should go see this movie with another mom, cause only another mom can fully understand the humor, realness and the struggle. This movie although a comedy was still so relatable to everyday life as mom, wether a single mom,married or transitioning from married to divorced you will find a little of yourself in these chracters. As mom’s we get so busy living for our kids, spouses, jobs it’s so easy to loose focus and loose ourselves. Life itself is so hectic that we get stuck in routines and not enjoying what is surrounding us. There is so much more to life than work meetings, cleaning the house, making sure your kids eat healthy all the time or making sure no one is ever late. Well, as mom’s we must give ourselves a break every now and then, pat ourselves on the back and just let it be some of the damn time.I think not taking ourselves so seriously all the time is key, laugh at yourself every now and then for screwing up, cause it’s going to happen. We are awesome and I love that this movie emphasized how we aren’t perfect and that is ok…no one is. So grab one your girlfriends and see this movie, and afterward go out for a bite to eat and have a few laughs overy it. I cant tell you how much my bestie and I really liked this movie and had a great time talking about it. Talking with my bestie is like free, fun therapy and there is nothing like it.

First day

My first baby is off to the 5th grade, my goodness where has the time gone!!This little girl had taught me so much about being a mommy, and I have enjoyed every moment of it. She is blossoming into such a gracious, smart and beautiful young lady. I’m not sure how I get so blessed but I’m thankful for sure..have a great first day!!!!

Perfect little accessory that is a product of the “cousin switch”. Once or twice a year us cousins will meet up with items from our own closets that we longer desire to keep for whatever reason. I love these swaps cause its like shopping without spending any momet and you totally walk away with a load of new clothes, accessories, housewares and make up. This been amongst your girlfriends, neighbors,  co workers, family or whoever you feel can benefit from it. I promise it will make for a great girls night and you can’t beat the deals. Maxi,Maxi

There is nothing like it….comfort and fashion in one is a all time favorite of mine. This a Matty M MaXi dress purchased from TJMAXX. Now I often shop at Tjmaxx and I always think I’m getting really good deals, but I have to say this shopping visits trumps all past ones. I totally went in the store to find a romper and bathing suit cover up, well I passed the CLEARANCE rack on my way there. I glanced and in that quick glance there “she” was, we quickly made contact and new instantly we were a match in fashion heaven. I took “her ” off the rack admiring her and then I spotted her price!!!!! Well, I would have you know she was originally  $39.99 but this day she was (wait for it)……. $11.99!!!! Yes, I said it $11.99….I don’t know about you but I get excited about a good deal, and the  icing on the cake is it was the perfect length for me. See for my short girls our there you know it’s tough to find a long maxi that you can still wear your flats and the dress not be dragging the floor. So I urge you to never, ever pass up a clearance rack cause you know never know. Also, just in case your wondering I totally forgot all about the cover up and romper cause I was so in awe of my Maxi,lol.

Old Friends

What a great weekend! I had the wonderful opportunity too see some old friends, I go back over 10 years with both of them. Through moving away, marriage and babies I still managed to keep my special friend ships with them. They both mean so much to me and although the time was short and went by way too fast I enjoyed every second of it. Always, remember that just because your not around people all the time, it does not mean they are forgotten, it just means you plan a trip and go see them,lol!! Love a good expo

Yesterday I had the pleasure to attend the Natural Hair and Healing Expo. This is the second year this expo had been given, and it was a delight to be there. There were many vendors from candles, jewelry, clothing, health and fitness, photography, logo tee shirts, makeup and so much more. If that wasn’t enough the entertainment was live, with great songs played by Drey “Pro Status”, a panel discussion ranging from hair care for natural hair, relationships  (Derrick Jaxn, author and relationship coach) fitness coaching, and who can forget about the awesome fashion show that featured original pieces. The show was well put together and I can’t wait for next year, I  can’t write this and not mention Daphne Pollard, the creator behind it all. I know you had a team of people and although I do not know each individual name, you all did a great job. It was a pleasure  to witness young, smart and dedicated individuals creating their own way and business and being able to share it others….so till next year!

Closet rescue

So my hallway closet was a hot mess, every time I opened it I instantly became frustrated, so I knew I had to do something about it. Over the years a collection of towels and sheets became a complete over load and half of them were never used or needed. On my quest for storage and organization I went to Ross too look for storage bins that would fit correctly in the close.

Luckily I found something right away while I was in Ross. Before storing sheets and towels in the bins I threw away sheets and towels that were worn, old,ragged or just plain done with. What a difference that made and from there I was from home free and ready to store my new towes that I bought. It’s amazing to me what a little organization can do, with this new closet I am able to look, reach and close the closet without anything falling on my head or just pure scared to open it because what would jump out at me,lol…

I wish I had taken a before photo but just imagine chaos and clutter on every shelf along with a door that would hardly close…so much better!!!!
